Lost Explorers/Victor and Martin 2010

The original sample, sent off to publishers in 2010 or 2011. It was inspired by the hunt for the Northwest Passage, in particular the lost Franklin Expedition and the discovery of The Resolute, a ship that was abandoned to the ice only to be found later floating free in the ocean. Wood from The Resolute was made into desks symbolizing American-English friendship known as The Resolute Desks, as seen in the picture of JFK working while JFK Jr peeks out from below and also in the film National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets.
